The present invention relates to one or more heat exchangers in communication with a combustion zone (30), each heat exchanger (10, 20) containing a matrix (15) of heat exchange media, the matrix (15) having a plurality of defined parallel or substantially parallel flow passages, the matrix being angled slightly above horizontal in the direction towards the combustion zone (30). The present invention is also directed to a generative thermal oxidizer including the one or more heat exchangers (10, 20) containing the angled matrix (15).

L'invention concerne un ou plusieurs échangeurs de chaleur en communication avec une zone de combustion (30). Chaque échangeur de chaleur (10, 20) contient une matrice (15) de milieu échangeur de chaleur. Ladite matrice (15) possède plusieurs passages d'écoulement parallèles ou sensiblement parallèles définis et est angulaire légèrement au-dessus de l'horizontale en direction de la zone de combustion (30). L'invention porte également sur un oxydant thermique régénératif comprenant le ou les échangeurs de chaleur (10, 20) contenant la matrice angulaire (15).
