64693-4344 ABSTRACT A method for the alignment of a closure having a directional orifice onto a container is herein disclosed. The process for attaching the closure member to the container having a neck portion, where the closure member has a directional orifice, comprises the steps of: (1) interposing between said container neck portion and said closure member a sealing ring comprising a metal foil having an adhesive coating on opposite sides thereof, heating said sealing ring by induction heating; (2) positioning said closure upon said container with said ring therebetween in a rotational alignment to position the directional orifice in a predetermined alignment with respect to the container; and (3) inductively heating said sealing ring to fuse the adhesive with the container neck portion and said closure member. The article resulting from the process is also herein disclosed.
