A method of producing an optical fiber ferrule having an angled, domed end face with the vertex of the dome and the axis of the fiber being substantially coincident. This result is achieved by orienting the ferrule and grinding the end face to a first angle relative to the ferrule axis, then orienting the ferrule at a second angle relative to the grinding surface and grinding the radius thereon.
Une méthode pour produire une ferrule de fibre optique oblique et en forme de dôme, le sommet de celui-ci et l'axe de la fibre étant en grande partie coïncidents. Ce résultat est obtenu en orientant la ferrule et en meulant l'extrémité pour que le premier angle soit relatif à l'axe de la ferrule, ensuite en orientant la ferrule pour que le second angle soit relatif à la surface meulée et en meulant le rayon qui s'y trouve.
