"Abstract of the Disclosure" Subterranean formations having temperatures above about 250° F. are acidized by introducing a substantially anhy- drous foamed treating fluid through a well and into the for- mation. The treating fluid contains a gas, a nonionic substan- tially hydrophohic foaming agent and an acid precursor which is normally liquid halogenated hydrocarbon having one or two car- bon atoms per molecule.
