A B S T R A C T The invention relates to animal ear tags. Ear tags for attachment to ears of animals such as cattle in accordance with the invention are made at least in part from a material comprising a poly- meric resin matrix having dispersed therein at least one liquid-insecticidally-active isomer of alpha- cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl alpha-isopropyl-4-chlorophenyl acetate. The invention also includes formation of the tags by injection moulding and their use in con- trolling pest populations in the vicinity of animals. The ear tags are suprisingly effective in the control of pests, especially flies and ticks, on animals such as cattle.
