A scoop container for animal excrement is constructed by providing a substantially triangular blank having a flap along one of its sides, folding the blank to define a square, folding it again to define a triangle and folding and securing the flap over one edge of the folded triangle. A blank with fold lines for facilitating such construction is disclosed. A scoop stick may be inserted into the constructed container. The resulting scoop container is easily constructed and may be conveniently closed once excrement is placed in the container. In an alternative embodiment, the blank is substantially in the shape of a square having a flap extending partly along one of its sides.
