18 ANIMAL FEEDER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A feeder for hogs comprises a cylindrical outer wall which is upstanding from the floor to a height above the shoulder of the animal. A feed supply duct is arranged coaxially with the wall along a centre part of the feed area within the wall and discharges feed downwardly to escape from a lower end of the duct to spread slightly outwardly across the floor at the base of the feeder. Between the duct and the wall is provided a plurality of radial extending angularly spaced divider plates each of which extends from the floor to the top of the wall. This forms a plurality of compartments each of which is accessible by a hole through the outer wall of shoulder width so that only a single animal can reach into the compartment through the hole for feeding without disturbance by surrounding animals. A seperate base pan can be provided to be inserted into the lower end of the feeder. The feeder is of a simple construction and provides efficient feeding due to reduced competition of the animals.
