An animal hanger includes a telescoping support member having an adjustable length. A pair of hooks are mounted adjacent respective ends of the support member on the ends of a cable such that adjustment of the length of the support member adjusts the relative spacing between the hooks. A locking member is mounted on the support member for securing the support member and the hooks at a fixed spacing between the hooks. The cable is suspended from a loop therein at a location spaced between the ends of the cable for hanging an animal engaged on the hooks.
