A non-human transgenic animal exhibiting schizophrenic symptoms in which a polynucleotide encoding SREB2 whose overexpression in brain causes schizophrenia and a polynucleotide containing a promoter have been introduced; and a screening method for a therapeutic agent for schizophrenia comprising the steps of administering a test substance to the animal, determining disorders associated with schizophrenia of the animal administered with the test substance, and selecting a substance having a therapeutic effect on schizophrenia are disclosed. According to the invention, an animal model of schizophrenia which reflects the genetic background causing the onset of schizophrenia and an in vivo screening method for a therapeutic agent for schizophrenia can be provided.
L~invention concerne un animal transgénique non humain qui montre des symptômes schizophrènes dans lequel on a introduit un polynucléotide qui code SREB2 dont la surexpression dans le cerveau provoque la schizophrénie et un polynucléotide qui contient un promoteur ; et une méthode de criblage pour un agent thérapeutique de la schizophrénie comprenant les étapes d'administration d~une substance test à l'animal, de détermination des troubles associés à la schizophrénie chez l'animal ayant reçu la substance test et de sélection d~une substance qui a un effet thérapeutique sur la schizophrénie. L'invention permet donc d~obtenir un modèle animal de schizophrénie qui reflète le contexte génétique provoquant l~apparition de la schizophrénie et une méthode in vivo de criblage d~un agent thérapeutique de la schizophrénie.
