A system for controlling the movement of an animal relative to an area is provided having a signal transmitter (18) with a transmitting antenna (19) associated with said area. A loop of wire (19) serves as the transmitting antenna (19) and defines the boundary of the area. An electronic receiver (15) carried by the animal is responsive to a signal produced by the transmitting an- tenna (19) for producing an animal control output, such as an annoying tone or an electrical shock, to the animal whenever the animal moves into the vicinity of the transmitting antenna (19). The electronic receiver (15) has first (24) and second (25) ortho- gonal receiving antennas for receiving the signal produced by the wire loop antenna (19). Each antenna receives a respective com- ponent of the transmitted signal. Selection circuitry (30, 31 and 32) selects which of the respective components has greater magni- tude and produces an actuating output to identify such component.
Un système pour contrôler le mouvement d'un animal par rapport à un endroit avec un transmetteur de signal (18), une antenne de transmission (19) étant liée audit endroit. Une boucle de fil de fer (19) sert comme antenne de transmission et définit les limites de l'endroit. Un récepteur électronique (14) porté par l'animal réagit à un signal produit par l'antenne de transmission (19) afin de produire une sortie de référence pour l'animal, tel qu'un bruit irritant ou un choc électrique, perçu par l'animal chaque fois que l'animal se déplace vers l'endroit où se trouve l'antenne de transmission (19). Le récepteur électronique (15) est doté d'un premier (24) et deuxième (25) antenne orthogonale de réception pour la réception du signal produit par l'antenne en boucle de fil de fer (19). Chaque antenne reçoit une composante correspondante du signal transmis. Des circuits de sélection (30, 31 et 32) déterminent laquelle, parmi les différentes composantes, possède une ampleur supérieure et produit une sortie active permettant d'identifier ladite composante.
