TITLE OF TEE INVENTION ANIONIC/CATIONIC POLYMER MIXTURE FOR SCALE INHIBITION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An anionic/cationic polymer mixture comprising (a) polyacrylic acid having a weight average molecular weight of from about 1-5 thousand, and (b) poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride) having a weight average molecular weight of from about 25 thousand to 1 million, wherein the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is from 1:1 to 1:8, has been found to give excellent inhibition of the formation and adherency of calcium carbonate scale, especially at elevated pH's of 8.5 - 9.5 and high saturation levels of calcium carbonate.
