Long-chain alkyl sulfates dissolve poorly in cold water. It has now been found that solubility in cold water is improved in certain anionic surfactant granules in which the fatty alcohol sulfate is thoroughly mixed with at least one anionic surfactant. A process for the production of such anionic surfactant granules is characterized in that a paste of at least two anionic surfactants is prepared and thoroughly mixed, subsequently adjusted to a pH of 6.0 to 8.5 and then subjected to a granulation step.
