TITLE ANNULAR GENERATOR APPLICANT NIAGARA PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS CORP. INVENTOR Robert GABOURIE ABSTRACT An annular generator specifically suited for a bicycle wherein the rotor is an annulus carrying a plurality of magnetic dipoles along the loci of points traced out by the circumference of a circle whose diameter is in close proximity to the wheel of the bicycle and is adapted to travel in close proximity to a stator including a magnetic core so that as the dipole travel in proximity to the coil, the coil is induced with an E.M.F. In the preferred embodiment, the dipole are magnetically induced by permanent magnet and, in fact, comprise to concentric circle the outer circle having a plurality of inwardly directed radials, and the inner annulus having a plurality of outwardlydepending radials wherein the radials are angularly disposed at a predetermined angle one from the other and the adjacent radials are integral from the opposite annulus and each of the annulus and radials is composed of a metallic material. The plurality of spacially disposed permanent magnets induced magnetic forces in the two annuli.
