ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An antenna selection diversity receiver system for TDM receive signal switches antennas (1,2) for every assigned time slots so that the best receive signal quality is obtained in said assigned time slot according to the prediction by using the signal quality just before said assigned time slot. The prediction of signal quality is carried out according to the receive level (R1, R2), and the slope of the same of each of the antennas just before the assigned time slot. Said signal quality may be average code error rate, receive level at the center of the assigned slot, or the minimum receive level in the assigned slot. The prediction is carried out either through linear prediction or non-linear prediction. Because of prediction of receive signal quality by using the information just before each assigned time slot, and switching of an antenna for every assigned slots according to the prediction, an excellent receive signal quality is obtained by an effect of diversity system even in high rate fading.
