The invention relates to a novel monoclonal antibody, a hybridoma cell line producing said antibody, DNA sequences coding for said antibody, and amino acid sequences. The manoclonal antibody, a preferred embodiment of which is named 17E6, has the following properties: -- reacting only with the .alpha.V-chain of human .alpha.V-integrins, -- blocking the attachment to the integrin substrate of the .alpha.V-integrin bearing cell, -- triggering reversal of established cell matrix interaction caused by .alpha.V-integrins, -- blocking tumor development, and -- showing no cytotoxic activity.

L'invention concerne un nouvel anticorps monoclonal, une lignée cellulaire hybridome produisant cet anticorps, des séquences d'ADN codant cet anticorps et des séquences d'acides aminés. L'anticorps monoclonal, dont une version privilégiée est appelée 17E6, possède les propriétés suivantes : -- ne réagit qu'avec la chaîne alpha.V des intégrines.alpha.V humaines, -- bloque la fixation au substrat des intégrines de la cellule contenant l'intégrine.alpha.V, -- désactive l'interaction établie avec la matrice cellulaire sous l'effet des intégrines.alpha.V, -- bloque le développement des tumeurs et -- ne présente aucune activité cytotoxique.
