The present invention relates to methods of treating tumors or proliferative disorders that are associated with angiogenesis by administering g-secretase and b-secretase inhibitors that inhibit secretases involved in amyloid precursor protein processing. In particular, methods are provided to treat tumors or proliferative disorders, or to inhibit angiogenesis associated with tumors, proliferative or inflammatory disorders, in animals or humans in need of such treatment or angiogenic inhibition, by administering to the animal or human therapeutically effective amounts in unit dosage form of a composition containing a carrier and at least one g-secretase or b-secretase inhibitor that inhibits secretase APP processing.

L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant le traitement des tumeurs ou des troubles prolifératifs qui sont associés à une angiogenèse, par l'administration d'inhibiteurs de .gamma.-sécrétase et de .beta.-sécrétase qui inhibent les sécrétases intervenant dans la maturation de la protéine précurseur de l'amyloïde. L'invention concerne en particulier des méthodes permettant le traitement des tumeurs ou des troubles prolifératifs, ou l'inhibition de l'angiogenèse associée aux tumeurs, ou aux troubles prolifératifs ou inflammatoires chez les animaux ou les humains nécessitant un tel traitement, ou une inhibition angiogénique, par l'administration à cet animal ou à cet humain de doses thérapeutiquement efficaces, présentées sous forme unitaire, d'une composition contenant un excipient et au moins un inhibiteur de .gamma.-sécrétase ou de .beta.-sécrétase qui inhibent le clivage de la protéine APP par la sécrétase.
