The present invention relates to an antibody or functional fragment thereof which binds to a mammalian (e.g., human) CC-chemokine receptor (2) (CCR2) or a portion of the receptor and blocks binding of a ligand to the receptor. The invention further relates to a method of inhibiting the interaction of a cell bearing mammalian CCR2 with a ligand thereof, and to use of the antibodies and fragments in therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic methods.

Cette invention se rapporte à un anticorps ou à un fragment fonctionnel de celui-ci, qui se fixe à un récepteur 2 de CC-chimiokine (CCR2) de mammifères (par exemple l'homme) ou à une partie de ce récepteur et qui bloque la fixation d'un ligand au récepteur. Cette invention se rapporte en outre à un procédé pour inhiber l'interaction d'une cellule portant un tel récepteur CCR2 de mammifères avec un ligand de ce récepteur, et à l'utilisation de ces anticorps et de ces fragments dans des procédés thérapeutiques, prophylactiques et diagnostiques.
