Disclosed are: a monoclonal antibody capable of binding specifically to Claudin-3 expressed on the surface of a cell, which is useful for the diagnosis of cancer having enhanced expression of Claudin-3, such as ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, urerine cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, bladder cancer and colorectal cancer; a monoclonal antibody having a cytotoxic activity against a cell of each of these types of cancer; a method for inducing the cytotopathy in a Claudin-3-expressing cell by contacting the Claudin-3-expressing cell with an antibody capable of binding to Claudin-3; a method for inhibiting the proliferation of a Claudin-3-expressing cell; and a method for the diagnosis or treatment of cancer.
La présente invention concerne: un anticorps monoclonal capable de liaison spécifique au gène claudine 3 exprimée à la surface d'une cellule, utile pour le diagnostic du cancer ayant une expression améliorée de claudine 3, tel que le cancer de l'ovaire, le cancer de la prostate, le cancer du sein, le cancer de l'utérus, le cancer du foie, le cancer du poumon, le cancer du pancréas, le cancer gastrique, le cancer de la vessie et le cancer colorectal. L'invention concerne un anticorps monoclonal ayant une activité cytotoxique contre une cellule de chacun de ces types de cancer. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour induire la cytopathie dans une cellule exprimant la claudine 3 par la mise en contact de la cellule exprimant le claudine 3 avec un anticorps capable de se lier à la claudine 3 ; un procédé d'inhibition de la prolifération d'une cellule exprimant la claudine 3 ; et un procédé de diagnostic ou de traitement du cancer.
