ABSTRACT An arrangement of the identification characters on lottery and similar tickets bearing individual identification indicia, the arrangement comprising the usual form of identification characters printed on the ticket as numerals and also at least one additional form of identification characters on the ticket. The at least one other form may be a spelled version of the numerals in either the same or a different sequence from that of the numerals of the first form. The face of the lottery ticket bearing the arrangement of identification characters may have a gradated colour scheme as background, the gradation of colours being in the same direction on the ticket as that direction in which the forms of identification characters extend.
