ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An orthosis is provided which is arranged to be attached to an external support. The orthosis comprises a rigid support for a body part; means for keeping the body part in place in said support; and guiding de- vice attached to the support, the guiding device comprising an anti- friction screw and nut assembly, in which the nut comprises two intercon- nected nut portions being rotatable but not axially displaceable relative to each other, each nut portion having an axial bore for receiving said screw, and at least two anti-friction bearings arranged symmetrically with respect to the bore, each bearing being arranged to contact one thread groove of the screw. With this orthosis, only small forces are needed to obtain the desired movements.
