- 32 - ANTI-GANGLIOSIDE GD1A MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY MZ, MZ-PRODUCING CELLS AND MZ-CONTAINING REAGENT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a novel anti-ganglioside GD1a mono- clonal antibody (MZ) which is capable of recognizing ganglioside GD1a but is practically incapable of recog- nizing GalCer, LacCer, Gb3, Gb4, GA1, GA2, GM1, GM2, GM3, GD1b, GT1b, GQ1b, Fuc-GM1, nLc4 and sialosyl nLc4; MZ-producing cells; an MZ-containing reagent; and a method for the detection or quantification of GD1a using the reagent, e.g., to diagnose cancer, systematic lupus erythematosus and diseases resulting from organic injury of the nervous system.
