It is intended to provide an antibody capable of binding to a specific region of glypican 3 and a humanized antibody constructed based on the above antibody. The anti-GPC3 antibody as described above, which has high ADCC and CDC activities compared with the existing antibodies, is useful as a cell proliferation inhibitor, an anticancer agent and a cancer diagnostic.
