Anti-HIV infection agents containing as the active ingredient at least one photosensitive dye selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formula (I) and compounds represented by general formula (II) wherein R1, R2 and R3 may be either the same or different and each represents C1-4 alkyl; R4, R5 and R6 may be either the same or different and each represents C5-10 alkyl; and X- represents a physiologically acceptable monovalent anion. A method for treating or preventing HIV infection which comprises administering the above-mentioned photosensitive dyes. The daily dose of such a dye ranges generally from 2 to 100 µ g/kg body weight, preferably from 5 to 40 µ g/kg body weight. Administration of these dyes to patients infected with HIV is efficacious in relieving or treating AIDS- associated syndrome and increasing CD4-positive lymphocytes, thus contributing to the cure of HIV infection.
L'invention concerne des agents de lutte contre les infections à VIH et contenant comme ingrédient actif au moins un colorant photosensible sélectionné dans le groupe formé par des composés représentés par la formule générale suivante (I) et des composés représentés par la formule générale suivante (II), dans lesquelles R¿1?, R¿2? et R¿3? peuvent être les mêmes ou être différents et représentent chacun un alkyle en C¿1-4?; R¿4?, R¿5? et R¿6? peuvent être les mêmes ou être différents et représentent chacun un alkyle en C¿5-10?; et X?-¿ représente un anion monovalent acceptable du point de vue physiologique. L'invention concerne également une méthode de traitement ou de prévention d'une infection à VIH, la méthode consistant à administrer les colorants photosensibles de la présente invention. La dose journalière de ce colorant est généralement comprise entre 2 et 100 µg/kg du poids corporel et de préférence est comprise entre 5 et 40 µg/kg du poids corporel. L'administration de ces colorants à des patients présentant une infection à VIH permet de soulager ou de traiter efficacement le syndrome associé au SIDA et d'augmenter les lymphocytes CD4+, ce qui favorise la guérison de l'infection à VIH.
