An anti-theft device to be applied to a shoe and provided with a sensor element (52) of an alarm system comprises two clamp plates (11, 12) which can be tightened against each other by means of a screw mechanism to be attached to the shoe strad- dling the edge of the upper leather thereof which defines the insert opening for the foot, and means for preventing operation of the screw mechanism for displacement of the clamp plates from the tightened position, which can be actuated by means of a spe- cial tool only.
