An anti-theft device securable to a window glass pane mounting plate within a door interior cavity defined by an outer door panel and an inner door panel for preventing insertion of a thin instrument into a gap formed between a window glass pane.and a rubber molding to unlock a vehicle door. The anti-theft device includes a base fixedly secured to the mounting plate, a hinge fixedly secured to the base, and a shield pivotally attached to the hinge. The shield has a hinge end and a distal end. The shield is movable between a tucked position in which the distal end of the shield is disposed adjacent the base and an extended position in which the distal end of the shield is spaced apart from the base for restricting access of the thin instrument therepast.
