Abstract of the Disclosure An anti-track electrical insulation consisting essentially of an organic insulating material that is subject to breakdown to give an electrical conducting carbon residue when the material is subjected to a high electrical voltage and dispersed homogeneously through the insulating material an anti-track additive that thermally decomposes, melts, or sublimes when subjected to said breakdown or subsequent follow current to produce a carbon path interrupting and thereby electrically insulating dielectric fluid which may be either a gas that remains dispersed along the path, a liquid produced by heat fusing the additive in which the liquid interrupts the path or a liquid which solidifies to encase and isolate particles of the carbon.
