Paramyxovirus from the group APMV3, APMV4, APMV5, APMV6, APMV7, APMV8, APMV9, Mapueravirus and Fer-de-Lance virus are described, which can be used for the production of a medicament for the treatment of tumours. The virus has a selectivity to kill human tumour cells but not human normal differentiated and human normal proliferating cells at the same dose. By genetic engineering the virus can be modified in such a way that one or more genes are added or are replaced by the homologous genes of a related paramyxovirus. By that method the anti- tumour activity of the resulting chimeric virus is en-hanced compared to the parental virus.

Cette invention concerne les paramyxovirus issus du groupe APMV3, APMV4, APMV5, APMV6, APMV7, APMV8, APMV9, Mapueravirus et Fer-de-Lance, pouvant être utilisés pour produire un médicament utilisé dans le traitement des tumeurs. Le virus présente une sélectivité pour détruire les cellules tumorales humaines mais pas les cellules normales différenciées humaines, ni les cellules de prolifération normale humaines à la même posologie. Par génie génétique, le virus peut être modifié de manière à ajouter ou à remplacer un ou plusieurs gènes par les gènes homologues dun paramyxovirus associé. Ce procédé permet dobtenir une activité antitumorale du virus chimère résultant meilleure que celle du virus parent.
