ABSTRACT Compounds are provided having the structure Image wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and are hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, or hydroxy- lower alkyl, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached also form a hetero- cyclic radical which may contain another heteroatom, namely nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur; R3 and R4 may be the same or different and are hydrogen or lower alkyl. These compounds are useful in the treatment of arrhythmia. In addition novel intermediates are provided having the structure Image wherein R is hydrogen, benzyl or Image These intermediates are also useful in treating acute myocardial infarction.
