Abstract of the Disclosure A novel Antibiotic C-15003 producible by cultivating a microorganism of the genus Nocardia, and having antifungal and antiprotozol properties, is converted by reductive hydrolysis employing, e.g. lithium aluminum hydride, to the corresponding free alcohol, identical with the known antibiotic maytansinol.
