The invention relates to N-alkyl-N-glycosyl derivatives of alkyl esters of antifungal antibiotics of polyene macrolide group of general formula (1a), wherein M represents polyene macrolide antibiotics residues, R represents a variable part of sugar residue, and each of R1 and R2 represents a C1-4 alkyl group; their salts of general formula (2a), wherein R, R1, R2 and M are as herein defined and A represents an anion of organic or inorganic acid. Compounds of formula (1b) and (2b) wherein the N-alkyl and alkyl ester groups are represented by methyl are of particular interest. The invention relates also to processes for preparation of the compounds, to compositions containing these compounds and to their use in therapy and the treatment of external and internal fungal infections in humans and animals.

L'invention porte: sur des dérivés N-alkyle-N-glycosyle d'alkylesters d'antibiotiques fongicides du groupe des polyènes macrolides, de formule générale (1a) dans laquelle M représente des résidus d'antibiotiques du type des polyènes macrolides, R représente une portion variable d'un résidu de sucre et chacun des R?1¿ et R?2¿ représente un groupe alkyle C¿1-4?; sur leurs sels de formule générale (2a) dans laquelle R, R?1¿, R?2¿ et M sont tels que définis dans la description et A représente un anion d'acide organique ou minéral. Des composés de formule (1b) et (2b) dans lesquels les groupes N-alkyle et alkylester sont représentés par méthyle, présentent un intérêt particulier. L'invention porte également sur le procédé de préparation de ces composés, sur des compositions les contenant et sur leur emploi dans la thérapie et le traitement de mycoses externes ou internes chez l'homme et chez l'animal.
