The present invention relates to conjugates of oligosaccharides of formula (1), wherein R is a linker to a carrier protein and optionally comprises up to three further saccharides, and which are useful for vaccination, methods of synthesis of such conjugates, antibodies against this antigen, hybridoma producing monoclonal antibodies against this antigen, assays using these antibodies for the detection of B. anthracis spores and kits comprising these antibodies, and a vaccine for the prevention of B. anthracis infection comprising the conjugates of oligosaccharides of formula (1). Monoclonal antibodies according to the invention selectively bind to B. anthracis, but not to related bacteria such as B. subtilis, B. cereus and other bacteria of this group such as B. thuringiensis.
La présente invention concerne des conjugués d'oligosaccharides de formule 1, dans laquelle R est un segment de liaison à une protéine porteuse et comprend éventuellement jusqu'à trois autres saccharides, qui sont utiles pour la vaccination, des procédés de synthèse de ces conjugués, des anticorps dirigés contre cet antigène, un hybridome produisant des anticorps monoclonaux dirigés contre cet antigène, des dosages utilisant ces anticorps pour la détection de spores de B. anthracis et des kits comprenant ces anticorps, ainsi qu'un vaccin pour la prévention d'une infection à B. anthracis comprenant les conjugués d'oligosaccharides de formule 1. Les anticorps monoclonaux de l'invention se lient sélectivement à B. anthracis mais pas à des bactéries apparentées telles que B. subtilis, B. cereus et d'autres bactéries de ce groupe telles que B. thuringiensis.
