The invention provides an antibody specific for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) which has a dissociation constant (Kd) of less than 5.0 nM for said antigen. The antibody is generally a single chain Fv (scFv) antibody. The antibody was initially obtained by screening a bacteriophage library for phage expressing high affinity CEA antibody. The antibody is useful for diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of colorectal tumours.
L'invention se rapporte à un anticorps spécifique de l'antigène carcino-embryonnaire (CEA) qui présente une constante de dissociation (Kd) dudit antigène inférieure à 5,0 nM. Cet anticorps est généralement un anticorps à chaîne simple Fv (scFv). On a initialement obtenu cet anticorps par criblage d'une bibliothèque de bactériophages afin qu'un phage exprime un anticorps présentant une affinité élevée à l'égard de l'antigène carcino-embryonnaire (CEA). Cet anticorps est utile dans le diagnostic et le traitement thérapeutique des tumeurs colo-rectales.
