ANTIFUNGAL AEROSOL SOLUTION ABSTRACT Aerosol solutions of certain relatively insoluble imidazole derivatives, particularly miconazole and miconazole nitrate, are prepared in a solvent system based on a mixture of a lower alcohol and a solubilizing agent with a hydrocarbon propellant. The solution provides at least 1.0 percent, and preferably from 1.5 to 2.5 percent by weight active agent on the basis of non-volatile residue. The solutions are pharmacologically acceptable for topical application in the treatment of fungal skin infections.
