Abstract of the Disclosure The new antibiotic Nikkomycin is produced by culturing the strain Streptomyces tendae Ettlinger at al T? 901 in a nutrient medium at a pH of about 5.5 to 8 under aerobic conditions and isolation by cation exchange from the culture filtrate, followed by elution. The antibiotic is believed to have the structural for- mula Image and is characterized by fungicidal activity.
