New derivatives of N3-D-trans-2,3-epoxysuccinamoyl-L-2,3-diaminopropanoic acid of formula (I) wherein R1 is hydrogen; or R1 is the residue of an amino acid selected from L-valine, L-norvaline, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-norleucine, L- methionine, L-lysine, L-2-aminobutanoic acid, L-aspartic acid and L-glutamic acid; or R1 is the residue of a dipeptide selected from L-norvalyl-L- norvaline, L-lysyl-L-norvaline, L-methionyl-L-norvaline, L-glutamyl-L- norvaline, L-norvalyl-L-methionine, L-methionyl-L-methionine, L-leucyl-L- norvaline, L-norleucyl-L-norvaline, L-valyl-L-norvaline, L-glutamyl-L-leucine, L-asparginyl-L-norvaline and L-leucyl-L-leucine; wherein R2 is hydroxyl; or R2 is the residue of an amino acid selected from L-alanine, L-methionine, L- valine, L-norvaline, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-norleucine and L-2- aminobutanoic acid; with the provisos that when R1 is hydrogen then R2 is an amino acid residue and that when R1 is an amino acid residue or a peptide residue then R2 is hydroxyl; the derivative optionally being in the form of a physiologically acceptable salt thereof; are of value as antimicrobial agents, particularly as antifungal agents, especially in relation to Candida albicans.

L'invention se rapporte à de nouveaux dérivés de l'acide N?3¿-D-trans-2,3-époxysuccinamoyle-L-2,3-diaminopropanoïque de la formule (I) dans laquelle R¿1? représente hydrogène; ou bien R¿1? représente le reste d'un acide aminé sélectionné parmi L-valine, L-norvaline, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-norleucine, L-méthionine, L-lysine, l'acide L-2-aminobutanoïque, l'acide L-aspartique et l'acide L-glutamique; ou bien R¿1? représente le reste d'un dipeptide sélectionné à partir de L-norvalyl-L-norvaline, L-lysyl-L-norvaline, L-méthionyle-L-norvaline, L-glutamyl-L-norvaline, L-norvalyl-L-méthionine, L-méthionyl-L-méthionine, L-leucyl-L-norvaline, L-norleucyl-L-norvaline, L-valyl-L-norvaline, L-glutamyl-L-leucine, L-asparginyl-L-norvaline et L-leucyl-L-leucine; et dans laquelle R¿2? représente hydroxyle; ou bien R¿2? représente le reste d'un acide aminé sélectionné à partir de L-alanine, L-méthionine, L-valine, L-norvaline, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-norleucine et l'acide L-2-aminobutanoïque; à condition que, si R¿1? représente hydrogène, R¿2? représente alors un reste d'acide aminé et que, si R¿1? représente un reste d'acide aminé ou un reste de peptide, R¿2? représente alors hydroxyle; les dérivés se présentant éventuellement sous la forme d'un sel physiologiquement acceptable de ceux-ci: ils ont les mêmes effets que des agents antimicrobiens, notamment des agents antifongiques, en particulier en relation avec Candida albicans.
