New 17.alpha.-fluoralkyl steroids have general formula (I), in which R1 stands for a methyl or ethyl group; R2 for a radical of formula C n F m H o, in which n equals 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, m>1 and m+o = 2n+1; R3 stands for a free, etherified or esterified hydroxy group; R4 and R5 stand each for a hydrogen atom, or together for an additional bond or a methylene group; St stands for a steroidal ABC ring system of partial formulas (A), (B) or (C), in which R6 stands for a hydrogen atom, a straight chain C1-C4- or branched chain C3-C4-alkyl group or a halogen atom; R7 stands for a hydrogen atom, a straight chain C1-C4- or branched chain C3-C4-alkyl group or, when St stands for a steroidal ABC ring system of formulas (A) or (B), R6 and R7 can form together an additional bond; X stands for an oxygen atom, an hydroxyimino group =N~OH or two hydrogen atoms; R8 stands for a radical Y or for an aryl radical optionally substituted several times with a group Y, in which Y stands for a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an -OH, -NO2, -N3, -CN, -NR9a R9b, -NHSO2R9, -CO2R9, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C1-C10-alcanoyloxy, benzoyloxy, C1-C10-alkanoyl, C1-C10-hydroxyalkyl or benzoyl group, and R9a and R9b are the same or different and like R9 represent a hydrogen atom or a C1-C10-alkyl group. Also disclosed are the physiologically admissible salts of these steroids with acids, when they contain the radicals NR9a R9b, and their physiologically admissible salts with bases, when they contain the radicals -CO2R9, in which R9 stands for hydrogen. These new compounds display an extraordinarily strong antigestagenic activity and are suitable for preparing pharmaceutical compositions.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux 17 alpha -fluoralkylstéroïdes de formule générale (I), dans laquelle R<1> désigne un groupe méthyle ou éthyle; R<2> désigne un radical de formule CnFmHo, dans laquelle n vaut 2, 3, 4, 5 ou 6, m > 1 et m+o = 2n+1; R<3> désigne un groupe hydroxyle libre, éthérifié ou estérifié; R<4> et R<5> désignent chacun un atome d'hydrogène, ou ensemble une liaison additionnelle ou un groupe méthylène; St désigne un système cyclique stéroïdal ABC de formule partielle (A), (B) ou (C), dans lesquelles R<6> désigne un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe alkyle C1-C4 à chaîne droite ou C3-C4 à chaîne ramifiée ou un atome d'halogène; R<7> désigne un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe alkyle C1-C4 à chaîne droite ou C3-C4 à chaîne ramifiée, ou, lorsque St désigne un système cyclique stéroïdal ABC de formule (A) ou (B), R<6> et R<7> peuvent en outre désigner ensemble une liaison additionnelle; X désigne un atome d'oxygène, un groupement hydroxyimino =N SIMILAR OH ou deux atomes d'hydrogène; R<8> désigne un radical Y ou un radical aryle le cas échéant substitué plusieurs fois par un groupe Y, qui désigne un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe -OH, -NO2, -N3, -CN, -NR<9a>R<9b>, -NHSO2R<9>, -CO2R<9>, alkyle C1-C10, alkoxy C1-C10, alcanoyloxy C1-C10, benzoyloxy, alkanoyl C1-C10, hydroxyalkyle C1-C10 ou benzoyle, et R<9a> et R<9b> sont identiques ou différents et désignent comme R<9> un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe C1-C10-alkyle. L'invention concerne également les sels physiologiquement admissibles de ces stéroïdes avec des acides, dans le cas des radicaux NR<9a>R<9b>, et leurs sels physiologiquement admissibles avec des bases, dans le cas des radicaux -CO2R<9>, dans lesquels R<9> désigne hydrogène. Ces nouveaux composés ont une activité antigestagène extraordinairement forte et sont utiles pour préparer des compositions pharmaceutiques.
