Disclosed is an antihistaminic substance comprising an extract from a plant tissue of Stevia, which is mainly contained in its stems and leaves, and in an cold water, hot water or lower alcohol extract thereof. Standing of the extract naturally causes fermentation to separate one or more organic acids such as lactic acid and acetic acid, thereby more enhancing the action. The addition of at least one organic acid to the extract immediately after extraction can also enhance the action. When rainbow trouts or broilers are fed on diets containing histamine, this extract significantly relieves the action of histamine. The extract also represses symptoms such as flare, itch and pain caused by excessive release of activated histamine or a histaminic substance, thus providing an antihistaminic substance of natural origin having no side effect.

Substance antihistaminique renfermant un extrait issu d'un tissu végétal de Stevia - présent principalement au niveau des tiges et des feuilles -, extrait dans l'eau froide, l'eau chaude ou un alcool inférieur. Lorsque l'extrait est au repos, il y a naturellement fermentation avec séparation d'un ou de plusieurs acides organiques, comme l'acide lactique et l'acide acétique, ce qui favorise le processus. L'addition, immédiatement après l'extraction, d'au moins un acide organique à l'extrait peut également améliorer le processus. Lorsque des truites arc-en-ciel ou des poulets à griller sont nourris avec des aliments renfermant de l'histamine, cet extrait atténue de façon significative l'action de l'histamine. L'extrait élimine également des symptômes comme l'érythème, les démangeaisons et les douleurs causés par la libération excessive d'histamine activée ou d'une substance histaminique, et représente donc une substance antihistaminique d'origine naturelle sans effet secondaire.
