An antiinfective-free formulation for prophylactic treatment of mastitis in dry cows comprises a seal formulation having approximately 65 % by weight of bismuth sub-nitrate in a gel based on aluminium stearate. The seal formulation is prepared by adding the bismuth sub-nitrate to the gel base in at least two separate stages.

Cette invention se rapporte à une composition ne contenant pas d'agents anti-inflammatoires, qui est destinée au traitement prophylactique de mastites chez des vaches taries. Ladite formulation contient une formulation de colmatage comportant approximativement 65 % en poids d'un sous-nitrate de bismuth dans un gel à base de stéarate d'aluminium. On prépare ladite formulation de colmatage en ajoutant le sous-nitrate de bismuth à la base sous forme de gel, et ce en au moins deux étapes distinctes.
