Antimicrobials for preventing, ameliorating or treating diseases caused by Helicobacter pylori, for example, peptic ulcer and gastritis, in particular, relapsing peptic ulcer and gastritis including: (1) antimicrobials containing as the active ingredient oxethazaine represented by chemical formula (A); (2) antimicrobials containing as the active ingredients oxethazaine and proton pump inhibitors; and (3) antimicrobials containing as the active ingredients oxethazaine and antibiotics.
