An antimicrobial agent containing a silver-chloro complex salt, a chloride and an oxidizing agent such as sodium hypochlorite or sodium chlorite, which exhibits art immediate or residual, bacterio- or fungi- cidal or antimicrobial effect against a wide variety of bacteria anti fungi and enables instantaneous deodorization; another antimicrobial agent containing a silver-chloro complex salt, a chloride and a compound compatible with a solvent (such as water) in which the chloride is soluble, e.g., an alcohol or surfactant, which conveniently permits simple application at the concentration of storage, does not cause the formation of rust or the deposition of salts in service, and exhibits fast-acting properties and detergency; and another antimicrobial agent containing a silver-chloro complex salt and a chloride having at least either of the property of being able to exist in the form of a supersaturated aqueous solution in the presence of a crystal nucleus at least at room temperature for 24 hours or longer and that of being decomposed when dissolved in water, for example, poly(aluminum chloride) or benzalkonium chloride.

L'invention concerne un agent antimicrobien contenant un sel complexe argent-chloro, un chlorure et un agent d'oxydation tel que l'hypochlorite de sodium ou le chlorite de sodium. Cet agent présente une action bactéricide, fongicide ou antimicrobienne immédiate ou résiduelle contre un large éventail de bactéries et de champignons et assure une désodorisation instantanée. L'invention concerne également un deuxième agent antimicrobien contenant un sel complexe argent-chloro, un chlorure et un composé compatible avec un solvant (p. ex. l'eau) dans lequel le chlorure est soluble, p. ex. un alcool ou un tensioactif. Cet agent peut être appliqué de manière simple et pratique à la concentration d'entreposage, n'entraîne pas la formation de rouille ou le dépôt de sels et possède une action rapide et des propriétés détergentes. L'invention concerne en outre un troisième agent antimicrobien contenant un sel complexe argent-chloro et un chlorure présentant au moins l'une des caractéristiques suivantes: capacité d'exister sous forme d'une solution aqueuse supersaturée en présence d'un cristal primaire à une température égale ou supérieure à la température ambiante pendant 24 heures au minimum, et décomposition lors d'une dissolution dans l'eau, par exemple le poly(chlorure d'aluminium) ou le chlorure de benzalkonium.
