ASTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds of formula (I): Image (I) (wherein R1 is hydrogen or methyl, R2 is hydrogen, optionally substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon or acylimidoyl, R3 is hydrogen or an ester group, and Q is an optionally quaternized nitrogen-containing group) are useful antibiotics which are resistant to dehydropeptidase I, and are thus useful for the treatment of many microbial infections.
