ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Antimicrobial compositions for inhibit- ing the growth of microorganisms in an aqueous fluid medium comprising an admixture of a conden- sation product of 5,5-dimethylhydantoin and formaldehyde with a chelating agent. A method for inhibiting microorganism growth in aqueous fluid media, particularly such media containing fatty oil or petroleum base components and modi- fied metal working fluids also described.
