A contact lens case having antimicrobial characteristics composed of a polymeric material having a plurality of amorphous zones. An antimicrobial agent is incorporated into said amorphous zones of the polymeric material of said body. The antimicrobial agent exhibits controlled migration through the amorphous zones of the polymeric material of said body. In this manner, the surface of the lens case is consistently saturated with an antimicrobial agent.
L'invention concerne un étui pour lentilles de contact présentant des caractéristiques antimicrobiennes. Cet étui est constitué d'un matériau polymère et présente une pluralité de zones amorphes. Un agent antimicrobien est incorporé dans lesdites zones amorphes de matériau polymère dudit corps. Cet agent antimicrobien présente une migration régulée à travers les zones amorphes de matériau polymère dudit corps. Ainsi, la surface de l'étui pour lentilles de contact selon l'invention est saturée de façon uniforme au moyen d'un agent antimicrobien.
