A packaged medical device produced according to the steps of positioning an antimicrobial agent source within a package comprising an inner surface, positioning a medical device within the package; and subjecting the package,the an-timicrobial agent source and the medical device to time, temperature and pressure conditions sufficient to vapor transfer an effective amount of the antimicrobial agent from the antimicrobial agent source to the medical device, thereby substantially inhibiting bacterial colonization on the medical device.
L'invention concerne un dispositif médical conditionné produit selon les étapes suivantes: positionnement d'une source d'agent antimicrobien dans un conditionnement comprenant une surface intérieure; positionnement d'un dispositif médical dans ledit conditionnement; et soumission de ce conditionnement, de la source d'agent antimicrobien et du dispositif médical à des conditions de durée, de température et de pression suffisantes pour transférer sous forme de vapeur une quantité efficace d'agent antimicrobien de la source d'agent antimicrobien au dispositif médical, ce qui inhibe sensiblement une colonisation bactérienne sur ledit dispositif médical.
