The invention concerns novel antimicrobial peptides of the family of defensins, in particular antifungal, called termicines, polynucleotides encoding said peptides, vectors containing them for transforming a host organism and the method for transforming said organism. The invention also concerns transformed organisms, in particular yeast producing termicine, or plant cells and plants, the termicines produced by the transformed plats providing them with resistance to fungus-mediated diseases. The invention further concerns the use of termicines as medicine and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
La présente invention a pour objet de nouveaux peptides antimicrobiens de la famille des défensines, en particulier antifongiques, appelés termicines, des polynucléotides codant pour ces peptides, des vecteurs les contenant pour la transformation d'un organisme hôte et le procédé de transformation dudit organisme. L'invention concerne également des organismes transformés, en particulier des levures produisant de la termicine, ou des cellules végétales et des plantes, les termicines produites par les plantes transformées leur conférant une résistance aux maladies, en particulier d'origine fongique. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation des termicines à titre de médicament et les compositions pharmaceutiques les comprenant.
