ANTIMICROBIAL WOUND DRESSINGS Abstract Antimicrobial wound dressings are provided comprised of a substrate coated with an antimicrobially effective film of a silver salt. These antimicrobial wound dressings are prepared by vapor coating or sputter coating certain silver salts onto a variety of wound dressing substrates to provide superior antimicrobial activity over the prior art. Preferred silver salts are silver chloride and silver sulfate.
