An antioxydant which comprises a primary aliphatic hydroxyl group linked to an organic backbone such that upon oxidation a hydroperoxyl moiety capable of boosting the efficacy of free radical scavengers and hydroperoxide decomposer type antioxidants is generated in situ. The antioxidant is preferably: (a) a high hydroxyl polyol ester having between about 1-35 % unconverted hydroxyl groups; (b) the reaction product of polyol and at least one acid selected from the group consisting of: phenolic acids, aromatic amine acids, phosphoric acids, and sulfuric acids; (c) the reaction product of (b) wherein the unconverted hydroxyl group is reacted with a facile leaving group, thereby producing free -CH2OH groups upon hydrolysis or oxidation; and (d) the antioxidant of (a), (b) or (c) blended with or grafted onto at least one material selected from the groups consisting of: mineral oils, polyol esters, polyalpha olefins, fuels, oligomers and polymers.
Cette invention se rapporte à un anti-oxydant, qui comprend un groupe hydroxyle aliphatique primaire lié à un squelette organique, tel que, après oxydation, une fraction hydroperoxyle capable d'intensifier l'efficacité des piégeurs à radicaux libres et des anti-oxydants de type décomposeurs d'hydroperoxyde est produite in situ. Cet anti-oxydant est de préférence: (a) un polyolester d'hydroxyle supérieur renfermant environ 1 à 35 % de groupes hydroxyle non convertis; (b) le produit de réaction du polyol et d'au moins un acide choisi dans le groupe constitué par: des acides phénoliques, des acides aminés aromatiques, des acides phosphoriques et des acides sulphuriques; (c) le produit de réaction de (b), dans lequel le groupe hydroxyle non converti est amené à réagir avec un groupe partant facile, de façon à produire des groupes -CH¿2?OH libres après hydrolyse ou oxydation; et (d) l'anti-oxydant de (a), (b) ou (c) mélangé avec ou greffé sur au moins un matériau choisi dans les groupes constitués par: des huiles minérales, des polyolesters, des polyalphaoléfines, des combustibles, des oligomères et des polymères.
