ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention concerns an improvement in the preparation of an aqueous solution of an antiperspirant active compound of enhanced activity according to the process described in copending Canadian application No.269,656 in which process a solution of a basic aluminium chloride, bromide, iodide or nitrate having an aluminium to chloride, bromide, iodide or nitrate molar ration of 6.5 to 1.3:1 is heated under such conditions as to produce polymeric species having a size greater than 100 Angstroms within which species there is contained at least 2% by weight of the total aluminium. The improvement consists in the inclusion in the solution of an amino acid which enhances the production of such polymeric species.
