ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention discloses novel antiprotozoal drug for animals and a process for its manufacture. The antibiotic of the general formula I Image (I) may be used in its free acid, as the sodium salt, the potassium salt or the ammonium salt. The antibiotic is produced by cultivating a strain of Streptomyces hygroscopicus under aerobic conditions in an aqueous nutrient medium and receiving the anti- biotic from the medium.
