There is provided an antipruritic agent comprising as an active ingredient an opioid .kappa. receptor agonist compound of specified chemical structure having a 4,5- epoxymorphinan skeleton, such as compound 1 of the following structure, or a pharmacologically acceptable acid adduct thereof.
